Statement From the NRA Regarding Today's
    White House Task Force Meeting</SPAN>
    line.gif

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newtown from ever happening again. We attended today's White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals.

We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be “prejudged,” this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners - honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation's most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works - and what does not.

    -NRA-
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. Four million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services. Be sure to follow the NRA on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NationalRifleAssociation and on Twitter @NRA.

Looks to me Biden is blowing off all pro gun groups just so the record states, we listened and don't care what you think or have to say. End of discussion, time for the executive order. And believe me, it is coming by the end of next week.

I am pleased that the NRA didn't roll over to some BS compromise. These people cannot be negotiated with. We will always wind up losing just a little ground with every negotiation. We need to make sure none of the "moderate" Repubs don't start down that path.

I'm hoping that now they realize compromise with these people is and exercise in futility. I'm ready for a fight...but they rammed Obama care through I just wonder what they have in store for this fight...

If/When that happens, Boehner should be ready to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.

Not that I think he will but that would be the proper non-violent response.

I doubt seriously that the "Gun Control" issue will go before Congress! Look for an Executive Order from our president.

That will let our Republicans off the hook.

Most Republicans are Rinos and are afraid to stand up for our 2nd Amendmaent Rights in face of a massive smear campaign by our government controlled media.

The socialists in power and their controlled media have made Americans/NRA and Patriots who support the 2nd Amendment responsible for the gun murders (Sandy Hook).

This is well executed socialist propaganda at it's best and it works. This issue will be a tough one to amicably resolve!

You may very well be right. They've had playbook and have followed it to the letter. So far, it's worked brilliantly for the bad guys.

What's to resolve? Besides, I thought our National policy was to not negotiate with terrorist.

Love it, anti liberal art. Yes there is a line ,their scared to actually cross it.

They're not scared, not scared at all. They're not scared of you, me or anyone else. That's hopefully what we have going for us, they're under estimating the liberty loving Americans.

They are so far over that line it looks like this . (a dot)

    Support is growing

I heard on Rush Limbaugh's show today that the NRA has gained just more than 150,000 new members in the past 18 DAYS!

The only reason anyone is floating the idea of "executive orders" is because Obama knows he can't get the votes in Congress to pass the liberal agenda he's pushing. The "executive order" idea was brought out now to judge public sentiment. He can't do a true public poll because that would just prove the opposition to more gun control.

You darned right the elite politicians are not scared!

They are totally surrounded by armed guards!

Futhermore, it will not be the politicians enforcing their laws.

If it comes right down to a "Gun Grab" they will send your children, your brothers, your sisters and neighbors to consficate guns from the American people.

The elite politicians nor their children will never fight, they send the children of the People into the battle.

I would imagine that any EO handed down would be unenforceable. The sheer magnitude of it would require a huge amount of resources, and personnel to accomplish it. Not to mention, the first couple of houses would get hit for confiscation but any residence thereafter would be ready for them. Social media would have to be completely blacked out otherwise the confiscators would walk right in to an ambush once everyone was alerted. To top that off, I have run across several LEO's and Military that they themselves have a good amount of firearms. Do you honestly think they are going to turn theirs in? Go ahead and try to push an EO, it will get nullified by almost every state. The scenario just gets ugly after that... and trust me ladies and gentlemen....history IS REPEATING ITSELF.

I agree but it won't happen over night. It would happen over the course of several months or even a year or more. And it will happen quietly, one home at a time, without news coverage and without warning. They wouldn't risk a firearm "kristallnacht". They will probably proceed much like they do with warrants for arrests--you'll know their coming for you when they arrive.
