I'm a Life Member of the NRA, and they send me these decals occasionally and I considered putting one on my rear window, it is tinted, but then I wondered if this would attract the wrong kind of attention,

Any body else have this thought?

I've had one on my various cars and trucks for the last 10 years and to my knowledge it has never had an effect one way or another on the road. I have however had a few interesting conversations with coworkers and others when they see the sticker.

"I own firearms and have a job. Follow me home and learn my work schedule, then break in when I'm at work."

But I've been know to be a bit paranoid with a wife and two kids at home. She's a good shot, but still...

no bumper stickers at all, for one reason. Everyone goofs while driving sometimes (accidental cut-off or what have you), and I don't want anyone cursing that danged NRA, Jesus fish, or anything else. Too easy to generalize.

Being taught over and over that "Discretion is the better form of valor" by my parents who were of the WW2 generation, I put NO stickers or statements of any kind on my vehicles.

    LEO inquiries I don't mind, but .....

[[MODERATORS, FEEL FREE TO P.C. MY LAST SENTENCE]] I actually had a motorist cut in behind me across two lanes of traffic to follow me into a Big Box Store, in Muncie, Indiana, to rag on me about paranoia, hate-speech, et al. I listened and replied, "Well, some folks believe the way you do, and I take it as my serious personal obligation to both defend your way of thinking, AND to furthur enlighten you as to trust, truth, liberty and the "Real American Way." I went on in and did my shopping. Returning to my car, I found the decal defaced and nearly removed, but no damage to the car. BTW, Muncie, IN is a hot-bed of liberal/progressive non-think and socialist propaganda through Ball State University. The liberals are vociferous and defiant, but for the main part, truly "pacifistic," as witness my decal. I took all outside stickies off, but do arrange some inside the windows. My best so far: "ISLAM is a HATE-CRIME."

If I lived in D.C. or Chicago, yeah, I probably wouldn't put such a sticker on my vehicle.

But I don't live in those places anymore. I have a LTCH it's perfectly legal for me to carry as many pistols as I want and not worry about it.

I have a ISRA and a ISRPA sticker on the truck. If a copper asks, then I also have brochures to pass out too.:D

Police or not, every Hoosier should be a member of the Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Association.

The stickers they give out come with have one regular sticker and one that is designed to go on the inside of the window. I use the one on the inside of the window. As far as I know I've never been treated differently for it in the two years or so I've had it. I don't see anything wrong with showing my support for the 2nd amendment. I have it on the back window of my car and I always back into my parking spot at my apartment complex. I am 100% sure that all my neighbors see it and know who it belongs to. Even if they didn't, just a couple range trips where I'm making back and forth trips to the car with armloads of rifles might give away that I'm a gun owner.

I don't see anything wrong with supporting a cause or two. The most recognizable way to support the 2nd, whether you agree with everything they do or not, is the NRA. Heck, my friend who doesn't own any guns (but wants one) asked for the NRA stickers to use as theft deterrent. Hey, if he wants to back the cause I'm all for it. I gave him the sticker as well as a few recommendations regarding 9mm or a 12 gauge.

I really believe that maybe I can change someones mind regarding this. If someone thinks that gun owners are such a minority, what would every other car on the street having a sticker do to that mentality? Kind of along the lines of the OC vs. CC. Just curious, how many sticker-bearers OC and how many that don't want a sticker exclusively CC? I mean really if you don't want a sticker because you don't want to give away that you have guns, but you OC I don't think you are going to fool anybody.

I guess it helps that I drive pretty conservatively. All you bad drivers should have some kind of "I don't like guns" sticker haha.

I have one on my car, have had for years. I'm not paranoid about it, I mean, I carry a gun. Why would I need to be paranoid?

I think if you carry, especially if you CC, that you may be better off with no gun related stickers.
That's just like wearing a "glock cap" when you CC, kinda defeats the purpose.
Also im thinking what if someone breaks into your car because they think you store guns inside?
Not sure that it ever happend but I wouldn't want to be the first anyway.

Ahh but what if I wear a Glock hat when I'm carrying my M&P? That would just confuse the heck out of them! :rockwoot:

Or better yet, my Glock hat and my SIG shirt and carrying my M&P. Holy fartknockers that just boggles the mind right there! :D
