I'm trying to organize a RNM Trauma class for each of the major regions or Indiana. Since I'm not familiar with any area outside of Greater Indy I am relying on a bit of help. Here is what I need, and it won't go without reward.

    Class Description
    A previous Trauma Class AAR

A facility to teach in. This needs to be a (free if possible) community room of some sort, churches, fire dept, VFWs, all of these offer something usually. The room needs to accommodate up to 30 folks, with easy access to electrical outlets, tables, chairs, and a blank wall or projector screen. I prefer the wall, as I can get a much larger viewing area from my projector that way. I don't mind dropping a donation to a group that furnishes a building, but you know the area better than I.

Hospitality- You know the parts of town that are safe and where to stay away from. I plan on probably an over-nighter and would like to stay somewhere safe, modest, and somewhat close to where I'm teaching.

Students- Yup that's right, I want to fill the classroom, and make it worth everyone's time. I have noticed that the bigger the class, the better the participation, the more productive the class.

Dates- I'm thinking this fall, but won't know for at least another week if not two, depends on some stuff with shift change at work and my draws for hunting season :D

Mutual Support groups are welcome of course and so are non-INGOers, friends, spouses, kin, so-forth.

Let me know what you got, please don't be afraid to brainstorm here or on PM.

    Thanks, RNM

Not everyone considers South Bend part of NWI, although I do. The new Kodiak range in South Bend has an area for classes I believe. The owner is a member on here. Zimm01 I think. Let me know if you can't find his contact info. Might be a good place to start. I know I would like to attend such a class.

Kodiak can handle this.:yesway: Plenty of lodging in the area unless Notre Dame has a home game. For this we can accommodate 30+ in the basement.

RNM PM me I'm the training coordinator for Kodiak.

I would definitely be interested since I begin a EMT-B cert course this week. If you wanted to incorporate South Bend into the NWI maybe Michigan City would be a good halfway. Blue Chip casino I am sure has a room. I can also see if the Michigan City Ivy Tech were I take my EMT courses could help us out.

Cabelas also has a room, but it is 75 if I am correct... Bass pro has a room, but I dont remember how big it is, but I do think that it was free.

The NWI INGO social group has 204 members which are primary from the following counties:

    Indiana%2BCounties.gif

Lake, Porter, La Porte, Netwon, Jasper, Starke, and Pulaski.

The active membership of 30 in located in Lake & Porter counties.

South Bend is a possible location for North Central Indiana & the Kodiak Range could probably alone net you 30+ attendees since that is the target market (ie gun owners at a gun range).

For those in the NW corner the trip to south bend is about 1.5 hours + 1 hour (time zone change). Yes we can make it depending on date, cost, time, etc but there is a core group that would love to see you come even further west if possible.

As some of the members have stated we have Cabela's, Bass Pro, and if we work hard at it can get a VFW for free, the Lake County Public Library also has rooms.

SEP for NWI is already booked up with 3 events.
    9/11 MEET & SHOOT

24 SEP Indiana Comprehensive Gun Law course @ Cabela's

    24 SEP Appleseed
    2011 Rochester, IN Appleseed Information

INGunOwners - 2011 NWI INGO Current Events Schedule

As such SEP would be bad for NW.
In OCT and NOV we only have the MEET & SHOOT. There is no other event on the calendar until MAR 2011 (MEET & SHOOT).

I have a small list going here at Kodiak we have a few more groups coming through this week. I will get with Zimm about putting out something on our facebook page as well. For INGO members contact me and get on the list so we can make this class happen.

SB is way too far for me, but something in Merrillville or even Valpo would work - I'm not sure if the wife's hotel has a conference room or how big it is, but if we're still looking for somewhere to host this then its a possibility.

St.Joseph county Library has numerous meeting rooms with multimedia capabilities (downtown south bend, branch I have toured for my own classes) Fees were nominal. The downside is firearms are not allowed, Unsure if this is a deal breaker.

They cannot ban firearms effective July 1.
