A day which will live in infamy. Sadly today, people don't remember 9/11......

It is amazing that many don't seem to give a damn about the history of this nation. They ignore our tragedies and our greatest moments. Truly sad that we no longer have 'civics' classes in schools that teach this stuff but rather students get lessons on anti-bullying and tolerance (of only certain ideas).

Well, I think kids should be told those are unacceptable.
But yes, we need to teach history better. And teach the reasons why history is so important. Too many people see it as events that happened a long time ago, and have no bearing on today. They think we are "different" and "better", more "modern". Of course, that's exactly the same that people thought in the past.

Agree on how sad this is. Like Actaeon says, teach history and teach why history. Those who study history are doomed to repeat it. Those that study history are doomed to watching those other idiots make the same mistakes. I think that is one of many reasons why kids do not understand so much in the world, because they don't have the context. They don't understand why our forefathers set up this great nation they way they did. They have no concept of what is in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution, because they have never seen either.

Yah. I trade stocks and Forex usually. Desk job. Lotsa mental stress, much time spent waiting for things to shape up just rite, but no heavy lifting.
