So knowing this, I can't make any guarantees about whether it will work or not, but I know something is working for us. It's planted around the entire perimeter of the deck.

Just wanna confirm all the below: Had to go pay a ticket there about a month ago and there were like 15 cars in the big parking lot out front at noon. Almost no one there... Gary has infra built for 180k people but only 65k residents or something like that.

I work just north of there.
During the day, next to the courthouse, you'll be fine.

Have to go to court in Gary next week. Am I better to drive or take something like Uber?

Had to do jury duty there a few years back. Plenty of parking in the area....at least there use to be

827 days till my estimated retirement date. I don't know if I can make it.

I started my countdown 3 years before my date. Printed it out and hung it in my locker. It helped me get through that last stretch.

You're next job probably won't have the same level of risk. I worked in a newsroom after I left the mill. It was all I could do not to laugh during safety meetings. No 300 ton ladles with molten steel and no machinery in sight that could crush you. It was like a picnic.

You have skills that will be in demand and it's amazing how much you learn in the mill that translates to other jobs. Hang tough and stay safe, retirement is closer than you think.
