Do they kill the chickens to eat them? Or just for fun?

    Yes.

    First night, kill no eat.

    Second night eat.

I found one dead bird. Tossed it in the compost pile, figured the raccoons got in before I closed up the coop. Next day all birds were dead. None eaten, just killed. Wasn't sure how the raccoon got in, but then I figured it out. Bastard came in through the roof. I don't have plywood on the roof, just corrugated asphalt shingle sheets. It pulled up the edge and broke off a portion of one of the sheets to get in.

I set traps after that and every day I shot one or two of them. Had two 20 plus pounders and a half dozen smaller ones, so I think I knocked out a whole family. This is the third time it's happened, same pattern every time. And each time, I murder all of them but then another bunch moves in. I'm not letting up this time. Traps will stay live always. Added 6 new dogproof traps, cause they're too smart for the normal cage live traps. These snap shut on their paws and keep em chained to a tree till I shoot em.

U r too kind to shot them.
But a dead racoon = a smiling jedi

jedi can understand the hawk killing to eat and/or feed its babies. Animals have to eat as well and d.kaufman failed to protect those chickens.

But when an animal just kills to kill them then that is just bs!

Those animal deserve to be eliminated

I don't shoot the hawks, they kill and eat the one chicken they attack.

I wouldn't slaughter the raccoons either if they ate the birds they killed.

I got no problem with that, it's how things work. I raise delicious chickens, things wanna eat em. Every animal that eats meat likes to eat chickens. They're delicious.

But those bastard raccoons just kill em all. I had 18 chickens. If the raccoons had killed and eaten one a piece, I'd still have 10 chickens.

I've shot 556 at my steel quite a bit no issues. 1/2" ar500 plates.
.556 will dimple steel if you shoot it too close. The more dimples you get, the more chance you have of bullet splatter going in unwanted directions. If you shoot the steel only with rifles from distance, you wouldn't worry about that. I shoot mine with pistols a lot, so I do not let people shoot it with anything other than frangibles from a rifle with supersonic ammo.

Some people that used my range in the past did not listen to me, and you can definitely tell.

    Finally found my keys.
I lost them this morning, had to borrow Mom's car to get to work.
Got home, searched and searched. Then as I was about to give up, I almost stepped on them.
I must have searched there dozens of times.

Funny how they're always in the last place you look.

Anyone hear about a paraglider crash on Liverpool south of old Ridge around 5ish tonight? Saw the chute on the wires and had a police car and fire truck there.

Really short week for some, shorter week for some others. I always look forward to working on Friday after thanksgiving because hardly anyone else is in. Gives me time to work with fewest distractions. Especially from other jobs needing to get done beside my own.
