    Plywood Donation for the Range:
DNR can only put new plywood up on Mondays. Our group typically leaves the plywood HEAVILY damaged once we are done. (Tons of shooting :D).

DNR advised that the State of Indiana has tighten their funds so they (range) can not always put fresh plywood up. In JUL, AUG, SEP and OCT we (NWI INGO) as a group have donated plywood to the range each time we have gone and DNR has been very thankful for it. (Suspect this has helped with us having a "food area" on the 25 yard range.) As such I would like us as a group to be able to do this again. The plywood must be full size 4'x8' in size ANY thickness. Wooden post should be 3" to 5" diameter and 6' in length.

    NWI INGO Plywood Person: N/A

    Current Pot: $68.46 (jediagh) + $20 (Clif45)

    Donation Goal:
    N/A

We have enough money from OCT's donation to buy plywood and will look to perhaps buy a few wooden post as well. Jediagh will call the range to determine if they need plywood or post.

    --UPDATE--
As the range said they were well stocked with plywood and post due to our prior donations no plywood will be taken this time. Some of the money has been used to build 4 PVC stands.

Cost of materials for PVC: $47.16 - $10 donation by Jedi = $37.16

    Current Pot: $31.30 (jediagh) + $20 (Clif45)

    FAQ:
    What should I bring?
Your firearms and some ammo, off course! No full-autos are allowed on the range but everything else (handgun, rifle, shotgun) is.

What should I bring (Non Firearm Related)?
Here is what some members bring in addition to their firearms to help them during the day.
    - Folding/Camping Chairs (there is only one two-person bench on the 25' yard range)
    - Shooting mat
    - Binoculars
    - Small tool kit to adjust sights/quick fix firearm
    - Eye and Hearing protection

I see member "John Doe" is bringing his 1911, can I shoot it?
Most members bring their guns to shot and allow others to shoot them as well.
If you see a gun on the list you would like to shoot, ask the owner (post it) what type of ammo brand they like so you could use it. Some members supply the ammo. Be considerate of others and bring some more if you can so everyone can try the firearm.

What about safety after all this is a public range? I have heard bad stuff about public ranges.
While the range is open to everyone typically what occurs when we go has been that we (NWI INGO) end up taking over the 25 and 50 yard ranges. This in turn has helped us to police ourselves and ensured our own safety. We setup a table with the "NWI INGO Range Rules" and just ensure that any new shooters we have with us are being supervised.

Do I have to shoot only from the bench sitting down?
There are no rules for "how" to shoot at the range.
    You can shoot by...
    - sitting from the bench
    - standing from the bench
    - sitting cross-leg from the bench
    - laying on the floor from the bench

We have even shot the boards CLOSER than the 25 yards as well when we control the full 25 yard range.

What size plywood can we donate?
The range can only take full sheet 4'x8' plywood in ANY thickness due to how it is nailed to the wooden post they have.

What is the cost to come?
The range is FREE as it is a public Indiana range.
The cost you will incur is for the ammo you shoot (most people bring their own) and for the targets you bring to shoot. FREE targets can be downloaded from the internet (see below). A couple people usually bring staple guns and are willing to share so there is no cost to hang the targets.

Bring eye/ear protection. If you can bring some snacks to share, if not that is OK too. If you have an odd caliber toy then its generally considered good form to bring extra ammo for that gun and share that but its reasonable to limit the amount of shooting if the ammo is expensive.

The group (INGO NWI) as a whole gives a donation of plywood to the range each time we go. The chairperson for the plywood pays for the plywood and brings it and takes donations from others for it.

I live in IL and would like to attend the event. Can I bring my guns as well?
Everyone is welcome to attend. Winamac is a free Indiana public range. Please note that non-Indiana residents must have a license or permit to carry a handgun from either Indiana or another state that Indiana recognizes (see here for more info) in order to bring their handguns to the range. The IL FOID card DOES NOT count to meet this requirement. You CAN bring a long guns (rifles and shotguns) WITHOUT a license/permit.
This is a rule of the Indiana DNR as they have been posted on the range.

I'm able to make it, there is a break in the fencing competition schedule so I can attend.

As has been the case, I'll bring the BBQ grill and some propane (Jediagh if you can bring the forgotten blue propane cylinder from last time I'd appreciate it). I'll also volunteer to bring some HOT DOGS as well as Ketchup, Mustard & Relish.

And no, despite the fact that this shoot is close to Thanksgiving, I'm not going to bring TURKEY DOGS :bacondance:

Not sure which guns will come along with me but I'm thinking of bringing:

AR15 chambered in 458 SOCOM . . . I will have VERY LIMITED ammo for this.
Kel Tec P3AT - .380 ACP (I have limited ammo)
Ruger LCP - .380 ACP (I have limited ammo)
Thompson 1927-A5 (12# handgun version of a "Tommy gun") - 45 ACP (I have ammo)
Various 1911 pistols - 45 ACP (I can share ammo)
For Jediagh  ... Olympic Arms PINK AR15 w/22lr conversion + Cavalry Arms PINK AR15 - 5.56 (I have ammo)
SMLE (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) Jungle Carbine - 308 Win/7.62 NATO (I have ammo)

While I do have ammo for all the above and am willing to share (especially 9mm/45acp/5.56/308), I have to note that my ammo is limited for the 458 Socom and the 380 ACP, so if you have any of either, or want to do extensive shooting of either of those 2 calibers then please bring some ammo of your own to run through the .380 or 458 SOCOM guns.

Thank you Jediagh, for sending me the reminder. I just started a separate thread, trying to get some other guys from here in Elkhart county to do a road trip for this event, since it's the last one this year.

    u r welcome!
If you are bring firearms please let us know so I can update the list.

    ex.
Colt 1911 [.45] (Jediagh will have ammo)
    or
Colt 1911 [.45] (Jediagh please bring ammo)

This way other members know if they need to bring some extra ammo of a certain caliber so they can use (with your permission) your gun to try out. Most of us bring enough ammo for others to shoot the guns in question but for some calibers some of us are running low so it's best to bring your own to shoot the gun.

I can make it to this.

Great! Are you in NWI? Don't recall seeing the name. Welcome BTW!
Same text for you as delmar if you can post what type of firearms you are bring that way the members can see what type of ammo they may have to bring as well.

As of right now its a yes I will be bringing a XD40 service, taurus pt140, hi point c9, cobra 380 and my new WASR 10. I will have ammo for all these

OMG!! OMG!!! You actually are a member! :D I know I've sent you several of these as the months have gone by but since I never see you post I figured you were a member that was no longer active. Can't wait to finally be able to put a face to the name.

Yup I think you have been sniffing the glue again. You did not list what you are bringing? Your usual I take it?

    XD [.40]
    GooseGun Shotgun [12g]
    Ruger 10/22 "Appleseed ready" [.22]
that little .380 pistol that you are better of throwing?
    some old revolver I think??

    Ammo status for these?

Also will you be able to bring some plywood? Not sure if the range is going to want it this time around yet. Will call monday to confirm. They were overflowing in it last month. They might want some poles instead. Not sure yet.

    @melensdad
ammo status on your other guns?
Can your grill use the coleman short and fat propane? I have some of those in case you need more propane.

    @all who may read
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN NWI TO ATTEND.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EVEN OWN A GUN!

If you are not bring a gun then please at least bring some ammo for whatever gun you would like to shoot.

Pop, chips and deserts are always welcomed as well.
I think we have enough "meat" but more is always better. From what I gather people tend to eat either 2 dogs or 1 dog and 1 burger. So once we have a better count on the number we can "increase" the meat if need be.

I plan to be there +1. Will have my ugly ;) Rugers P94 .40, 22/45 Mark III, and my 10/22 with ammo. She will have Taurus PT709 Slim 9MM with ammo.

Jediagh The 22/45 Mark III is a .22 just like your Mark III. The 22/45 have the same grip angle as 1911 so that is where the 45 comes from. Mine has molded grips but some will take 1911 grips. Mine is a SS target model with polymer frame.

I'm in, this time I don't forsee a problem as I am waiting to unload my trunk until after this last shoot.

    blah blah blah . . .

case of Coke (from Mexico- made with real sugar)

    blah blah blah . . .
Ok well you punked out of showing up last time and you missed the cigar night too, so I'm just going to throw this out there. If you don't show up for this one then a bunch of ruffian ne're-do'ell type thugs are going to show up and snatch that case of REAL SUGAR Coca-Cola from your trunk and take it back to Winamac.

There is just not much better in the world than soda pop made with REAL SUGAR. I don't know why, but damn its good stuff. I had some Mexican Pepsi a couple weeks ago with REAL SUGAR and just about got my tongue stuck in the bottle trying to get the last drops out.

Oh I shall be there, I know this because I have yet to unload my trunk from the last time I packed. So everything is ready to go. I will see if I can complet the work I'm doing to my Hi-Point. Hopefully the blinging will be done and I can grace you all with the presence of the all mighty Hi-Point. It will be featured on a new Spike TV show called Pimp My Hi-Point.

I know you are low on the .40.

I have lots of SG shells BTW and plan on using primarly the SG this time around. Hopefully gunbunnies brings the sagia with the drum. :ar15:

That is because it's pure cane sugar that they use in the pepsi/coke from mexico. It's not the refinedy white sugar that we have up hear and use. In mexico they literally just cut the sugar cane and just grind it and dump it into the vast of the soda liquid. So you are getting 100% pure sugar concentrate (ie. the entire cane is dumped in!) which our bodies have not had/tasted in a long time and thus it kicks in a mega craving for more. It's very similar to getting pure 100% grade crack. :D

Actually, we really don't use sugar in soda at all here in the states... It's high fructose corn syrup and/or sucralose.
Neither of them are assimilated very well by the human body, the corn syrup mostly just turns into fat instead of being immediately metabolized into energy, and the sucralose is a bit more complicated, it was originally being designed as an insecticide, but they decided it worked better as an artificial sweetener for human consumption...
Bla bla bla, nobody cares lol:lala:

Anyway... some stuff to add to the list.

    Attendance:

Myself and possibly my brother (LocustsOfSteel +1?)

    Equipment:

    Handgun
Charter Arms - Police Off Duty [.38 special] (LocustsOfSteel will have ammo)
    Rifle
Zastava M59/66 [7.62x39mm] (LocustsOfSteel will have ammo)

    Food Items Coming

Considering theres going to be burgers and lots of hot dogs (i might bring a pack of dogs just in case), I'll just bring some sauerkraut (for those who do the whole german thing) + some dejon mustard and hot sauce (for those who like it hot;)).
I'll skip the charcoal grill this time, it just takes too long to get started... However I will bring some hickory and/or apple wood chips if the propane grill is compatible.

It will be nice to try the milk version of horchata (thank you Jedi).
And i have missed the real coca cola (thank you Andy).
Also, Melensdad, if you could bring your vz58 again I'll be all kinds of giddy, and with that folding stock I'm tempted to shoot it pistol stile:D.
