I wasn't sure what happened here when I first heard the story. But there have been so many times where it's all the bus driver's fault for being under the influence, falling asleep at the wheel, texting, or other distractions. I was hoping it wasn't true here since so many were killed. Current fatality count is 15.

    Now, this story comes out:
AP sources: Bus driver in NYC crash stopped before - Yahoo! News

Driver was ticketed in 1995 for speeding

He was ticketed twice for driving without a license
    He gave police an alias

    His driving privileges were suspended

He can't even legally drive in NY state after he failed to address the charges.
He is a convicted felon with a 20-year-old manslaughter conviction

So how in the hell did this guy get a CDL and drive tourists for casino trips. I really don't understand how this can happen.

It makes people call for more stringent checks. I don't care if it's CDL, Guns, School administrators, or whatever. The checks obviously aren't working.....AT ALL. :xmad::xmad::xmad::xmad:

Of all the taxi drivers I have pulled over, none have had a valid license. One of them, who I've pulled over more than once, is actually legally blind.
