Here's a good article on the awful policy of creating legally mandated gun-free-zones.

Check out Oath Keepers if you haven't already. I support their organization and its message.

This shooting is yet another tragic example of the failed, grotesque insistence on helpless victim zones where any crazed gunman can be assured of a large number of disarmed, undefended, helpless victims, all crammed into one place, where he can kill many children before an armed defender arrives from elsewhere. It is disturbing and sick that the federal government so hates the right of the American people to bear arms, and so hates their natural right to self defense, that the government insists on making them helpless, disarmed victims for anyone who cares to kill them. And in this case, all of the teachers and staff were willfully disarmed by the Federal Government, by force of law and threat of prison, to ensure that they would be disarmed and incapable of saving the lives of the children entrusted to their care.

That is certainly a new an interesting take on it. I never considered the federal government to be at fault for mass-shootings before, but they make an excellent point. Our liberal government is definitely allowing this to continue by creating more gun free zones.

The murderer is the main cause, of course, but ALL those who propose, advocate, enact, or enforce "gun-free-zones" are as guilty of aiding the murderer as if they loaded the guns for him. All the administrators and politicians they keep giving sympathetic air-time to as they grandstand for photo-ops of them wringing their hands should be in court facing criminal charges...!

I was hoping for suits to be filed after the Aurora shooting. Someone needs to file suit against the parties responsible for not allowing citizens to defend themselves and others.

I don't like lawsuits in general but I don't see any other viable way to bring light to this bass ackwards approach.

It take an armed good guy to stop an armed bad guy.

I'm interested in hearing from some teachers or principals and if they or someone they know is willing to take training and be ready with the responsibility of a firearm and using it if necessary

Gun free zones are only free of guns that could be used by law abiding citizens already on scene who are the only true "first responders" that would have any realistic chance to possibly save a number of innocents from being helplessly slaughtered.
