Its beginning to sound a little like one of Longbow's novellas.

Obama Voices Empathy With 'Frustration' Behind Anti-Wall Street Protests | Fox News

Pelosi has come out and gone "even further, praising the Occupy Wall Street crowds for their youth, focus, and effectiveness. “God bless their spontaneity,” she said."

So....Tea Parties are "astroturf" but a camp out by a couple hundred college kids and unemployed gets co-opted by Moveon and the unions and thats "spontaneous"?

Call me crazy, but there's just something DISGUSTINGLY REPULSIVE about a sitting POTUS coming out and expressing support for one group of people against another. While you may say that he "doesn't actually say that anywhere" its pretty clear that he is trying to set up a counter-tea-party movement, desperately hoping that this one will come out to the polls for him.

Ultimately though, I believe most of these people aren't really "in it to win it", whatever that even means. The Tea Party began with a concise purpose and goal that was fairly clearly stated. While they have added new "planks" the primary remains the same for the majority. This group doesn't have a concise (or realistic for that matter) platform. They have a hodge-podge of wishlist items (one such is all debt for everybody in the US should be eliminated). They begin with 14 items that they voted for online (which oddly when its an internet poll whether Ron Paul is a viable candidate it is chalked up as garbage and loaded, but when its a bunch of overgrown adolescents deciding what they want to write on cardboard, suddenly it gains legitimacy).

It's one thing to protest when you're just skipping the college your parents are paying for or when you're already unemployed/under-employed. Its a whole new thing when you have to give up a REAL paycheck to attend "Burning Man DC". The only way that works is if you're a teachers union.....OOOOHHHHHHH!!!! :ar15::ar15::ar15::ar15::ar15::laugh::laugh:

Politicians pandering to their base... shocking isn't it?

The tea party and the anti-wall street protests have quite a bit in common... Their message as a whole is different, but they also share many similarities... opposing taxpayer sponsored corporate bailouts comes to mind...

So what is it? Is the tea party an "astroturf" movement consisting of elite that do not express the concerns of Americans.... are the anti-wall street protesters pot fueled socialist capitalism hating economic terrorists?

Maybe they are both groups of Americans voicing their opinions, that do not agree on the best way to solve current issues. At any rate, many politicians and a large portion of the mainstream media seem to pander to one side while dismissing the other... not justifiable, but the status quo.

Do these protesters have that short of a memory? How many financial institutions were bailed out under the current admin? I guess it's okay when your side does it.

That's a shocker, NOT! The Dems realize that promoting class warfare is their best hope of regaining the House, keeping the Senate and getting Obama reelected.

The mantra of this administration, "Hey it's not your fault you made made bad decisions it's all those rick people's fault"

This is playing out exactly as orchestrated. Nothing here is spontaneous. Remember: "top down, bottom up, inside out." Create the crisis, then offer the solution. The statists and Marxists have told us precisely how their plan will work, but no one gives them any credence until it's too late. Once the protests turn to riots and eventually uprisings, martial law will be "necessary for the safety of everyone."

Keep your fingers crossed that I'm dead wrong on this. I know I will.

I just Keep thinking alex jones CAN'T be right. I need more time I was thinking this would go down next summer. Martial law would suck for both sides. I hope someone is smart enough to know that we are free men and will not bow.

Me too - I'm not ready yet. Not that I'll ever be, psychologically. As far as them being smart enough to know we won't bow, I fear they're counting on it. I don't want us to be put in such a situation, but if our hands are forced, I'm sure we won't disappoint. But I can't begin to imagine how much that would suck.

I thought they were protesting all kinds of things? Im sure the "socialists" will get most of the news coverage because the media wants us to think ill of them. I was under the impression they were protesting the bailouts and bonuses that followed, along with 10% unemployment. And maybe through in the fact Corporations are controlling our gov? From the interviews of people i saw (sure it was on the daily show but whatever) the people want the POWER back in OUR hands.

Protesting government sponsored bailouts is not protesting capitalism... actually, it is exactly the opposite.

Last I checked, the tea party also has not led to martial law... I see no reason to believe these protests will either.

Both may threaten status quo politics, but I have a hard time buying the line that they inevitably lead to revolutionary attempts or a government overthrow...
