I don't know this for sure, but it is believed and perceived that the people who are in charge of the windfarm in Northern Indiana might actually know what the hell they are doing. It cost them a million dollars to erect each one of those towers. And by looking at this map, it seems to be in the right place.

I'm right there with you. $0.13/kWh is highway robbery. My co-worker just a mile from me is on a different provider and he is only paying $0.08/kWh. WTF?

Our REMC,Utilities District Of Western Indianahas become one of the Highway Robbers in SW Indiana. They claim that they are being coerced to raise their Rates by Comrade Obama. We need to Vote the Directors OUT :noway:

As I have said before......If you want to get off the grid or have an emergecy power system you have to consider these setups

I fall back on propane because it is easy to store and use.

    Heat
Wood, or propane ( natural gas is ok, but how long will it last)
    passive solar

    Power
Gen set - gas, diesel or propane ( natural gas ) for peak power demands and charging batteries when other sources are running and minimal levels
    solar
    wind
    hydro

    cooking
    wood, propane ( gas )

    water heat
    solar
    propane
    wood

    drying clothes
    line
    propane ( natural gas )

There are other options, but I'm trying to be brief.

For heat and hot water I have a Hardy, don't take much power to run the pump and blower and saves a bundle on the electric bill.
