I have a friend who lives just off Airline road who tells me there are multiple helicopters over his neighborhood, and cruisers passing by at high speed every few minutes. He was mowing his grass and one of the cops stopped to tell him "we have officers down on Airline, looking for the shooters. Go inside".

Baton Rouge has always stuck me as a powder keg. There are some really big gangs, lots of drugs, lots of racial tension.
