    Enough to OD? Dang.

Yes. We've been given some training on this recently as it's becoming a problem. A tiny amount (as in the equivalent of a couple grains of sand) can be potentially fatal via inhalation or skin absorbtion. It's not the heroin, it's the stuff they are using to enhance the potency. Fentanyl, etc.

It's deadly enough, and in such small quantities, there is concern it could be easily used as a weapon:

Yep, "grey death". Nurses are supposed to wear gloves when giving nitro tablets too. Can absorb and drop your pressure

Remember in lethal weapon when Riggs shows his knife into the cocaine and takes a hit to test it?

Fentanyl patches are dispensed by pharmacies. They are usually good for 3 days and dispense between 25 and 75 micro-grams per hour (1,000 micro-grams = 1 gram). The stuff getting mixed in with heroin is coming from who knows where, but not a pharmacy. This stuff is scary!

Thank you for the link, I make contact with OD patients at the scene and was unaware of this, I like to be on top of these things.

IIRC 1,000 micrograms = 1 milligram, 1,000 milligrams = 1 gram, so 1,000,000 micrograms = 1 gram. If it's 25-75 mcg then yes, that crap is REALLY potent.
