yeah, couple of threads already. Let's not get carried away on bashing cops over one dumbass

The title's question is rhetorical and suggests more of the same double standard in the treatment of these two presidents. Can you ever remember this kind of thing happening to anyone with an anti-Bush sticker... No matter how outrageous it was?

I have nothing but praise for LEO's in general and have many in my family including my son. The take-away from this is not my title, but the attached story.

The article says the secret service went to his home to make sure
he was not part of a "hate group"......... What constitutes a hate group in their definition?

    Hiding from reality
    I love this part

McCool said although the sign should not have been confiscated, the situation was made right in the end.

How could it have been made right in the end. Sorry but no government official will ever set foot in my home without a warrant. Period, I have been through that before. Now I am sure he is on a watch list, the no fly list, and will probably be audited by the IRS, due to showing his Christian values and beliefs.

Actually, many police officers were upset with Obummer.

During his campaign he ordered the Secret Service to keep uniformed officers away from his presence so he would never be filmed by the Media beside anyone in an LEO uniform.

On another forum we decided that he did not want to appear to be in a Perp Walk. :)

Surely you all remember the port-o-crapper incident at the Policemen's Memorial during the campaign...

To me, the gentlemen's reaction is more disheartening than the officers actions. His lukewarm response to the violation of his rights and his dignity make me ill.
Have we come to this now that someone meekly accepts it with an "Aw shucks" shrug?
He should have required the officer to call his superior on the spot. The incident should have ended on the highway with an apology from the officer and some retraining on the Bill of Rights.

    A little civics lesson:

1st Amendment- You have the right to free speech

2nd Amendment- Your right to bear arms shall not be infringed.

4th Amendment-- You have the right to be secure in your person, house, papers, and effects, against warrantless searches and seizures.

When applying your Constitutional rights please keep in mind that 2+2=5:

A cop can seize your property if it that property says something people don't like and because you said something people don't like the Secret Service can show up to your house without a warrant to "look around."

They need to "look around" because your property was seized because the property said something people don't agree with and the Secret Service needs to make sure you aren't bearing any arms.

They need to make sure you don't have any firearms because you exerted your right to free speech resulting in the seizure of your property causing the government to do a warrantless search because they need to make sure that your right to bear arms IS INFRINGED because the Bill of Rights does not apply to you because you implied Obama's life is worth the same as an unborn baby.

WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING!!! Obama's life is worth more than a 1,000,000 babies' life. I mean this is the messiah we are talking about. At least there is comfort in knowing that liberals just admitted that abortion means the same as murder.

(BTW as a libertarianI am pro-choice but I stll see it as murder)

Many will tell you to just suck it up and deal with it until you go to court. Especially many on here. Not that I disagree, I'd rather not get a boot to the face because I explained my rights to the officer, but it is disheartening that we must submit to what "they" say we do so they don't charge us with even worse crimes.

My response to the Oklahoma City Police Dept was not as diplomatic as some others. I have great respect for police officers. My brother is a county deputy & my best friend Kevin Carper paid the ultimate price 2 years ago this month as a Spartanburg, SC deputy sheriff. HOWEVER - if I were to get pulled over for this bumper sticker, I'd have handed my wife the cell & told her to call 911 & get this cop's commanding officer here asap cause things are going to get ugly (not physical, just ugly). Here was my email to the OCPD:

    Dear Oklahoma City Police Dept.,

I'm thankful I don't live in Oklahoma City where a person apparently can't exercise his 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech. I can not believe a police officer would pull a person over simply for a bumper sticker that has an Anti-Obama meaning. This police officer should be fired immediately. He's obviously to stupid to serve & protect the public, which he has taken an oath to do.

As far as my subject line "Screw Obama," "Screw" simply means to "To hell with." It is not a threat, just my personal opinion.

Wow. "People" and I use the term loosely protested the funeral of one of my soldiers, leaving emotional scars on a family already devastated by the loss of their son. When the soldiers father asked the police escort to do something he was told by the officer, who was very apologetic that there was nothing he could do. The protesters had a constitutional right to assemble and voice their opinions, whatever they may be. But if I disagree with the "messiah" then I must be dangerous. WOW! IDF is looking like a better option all the time.

Had to bury a good friend of mine in rural Mississippi. There were protesters there also. Then the local bike gangs commenced to beat the living **** out of them. Maybe not right, probably not legal, but very gratifying.
