I used alcohol to take care of the foam but I had to use a scotch pad to remove the green corrosion.
I read this thread and just wondered if these were loaded rounds being dipped, tumbled, cleaned, or sanded to return to firing condition? Wouldn't there be a concern of primers getting either soaked, or impacted, and affecting firing?
Again I understand the storage issue, and would probably do any or all of the above to reclaim the ammo.
In my past, we were advised not to use lube(oil, Hoppes, WD40) around the primers to limit any FTF in Duty Weapons? Not being critical, only asking? Good luck
