hey i just inherited an old S&W 38 revolver and i am looking to get it reconditioned. it misfires and it needs to get reblued.
do you recomend i send the gun to S&W, or should a local gunsmith do this work??
    thanks,

You will have to send it to a gunsmith. I know this because I have a lady smith and I just called s&w last week and they told me whatever needs to be done you have to take it to a gunsmith. :D

by "gunsmith" you mean NOT S&W?? i went to their website, and they have a # to call, but i figured it would be expensive, and probally take a long time.
do you recomend a local gunsmith rather than the pros at S&W?
