Just got a bunch of new hunting catalogs today. Why do Gander, Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc promote the heck out of just camouflage clothing when you have to wear orange? What am I missing?
Usually the catalogs that come out at this time of year are geared towards the bow hunter. Bow hunters are not required to wear orange until their season starts overlapping into the firearm seasons.
Maybe the requirements for orange are not the same in each state? Thus leave it to the hunter to add whatever orange is appropriate (e.g. vest, hat, etc)?
E.g. Don't have to wear orange while hunting gators in Texas. Nor certain birds.
I heard something about orange not required if you are x feet above ground level? Is that correct? And, throughout the season, including firearms, some vendors still seem to ignore orange. You still think that's just marketing?
