Earlier this year, I mas the decision to quit bagging my grass clippings. I have bagged for the last 9 seasons. I have a John Deere GT235 with the 54C convertible deck, so I decided to invest in a mulching kit.

After installing the kit with and the mulching blades provided by John Deere, I thought I had made a mistake. The results were unsatisfactory to say the least. I then purchased and installed a set of Predator mulching blades...a little better, but still not satisfactory. This morning I installed a set of Gator blades by Oregon. As soon as I compared them to the Predators, I was impressed. they were significantly heavier, and wider.

I highly recommend these blades. They did a fantastic job on my lawn today even though I had to take off way more than the recommended length due to the heavy rain we have had. I am sure when I mow again early next week the results will be even more impressive.
