This has never happened at my house. It does not matter how many I make, they all get eaten.
    Maybe it's potatoes in general.
My wife likes to make various amazing potato patty things out of left over mashed potatoes, but even when she makes way too many, they all are eaten.

She has learned to divide the batch, serve some and stash the rest away in the fridge before the meal.

I am still "fighting" with two, twenty somethings (basically, wonderful children, mine are) to get their ******* taxes filed.
One has it all finally ready, the other is still trying to get a W2 or 1099 (STILL) from a temp job he worked for a short time. Running out of time here.

    That's how it feels.
If there was a "pulling hair out" smiley, I might have gone with that one.

23 and 25; they know this stuff. And they are both students, so they will get most of what Fed taxes they paid returned by direct deposit into their accounts, quickly.
It's almost like they don't wanna be grown ups.

What do I do? Quit loving them? Or tough love them half way to homelessness. Let them find out what it is like to pay a late penalty?

Some life lessons can be painful, even if monetarily.
