Last time I saw mine, she came walking up to my house carrying a gas can. Her car had run out of gas about half a mile away (she lived in Bloomington at the time but was up here for some reason). I filled her gas can and gave her a ride back to her car and wished her well.
Well, that's the kinda stuff I can deal with.
Heck, I drove to see family in Cape Cod Massachusetts.
At the end, my car started stalling.
Gas station mechanic told me my fuel gauge must be broke, put a couple gallons in the tank, and said it was okay.
    It was not.
At my destination, one of my uncles had a shop.
Checked out the car, found a bad fuel pump, replaced it.
All done first thing in the morning.

Wouldn't take a single cent for it.
Not even for covering the cost of the part.

But, when they show up with "problems", mostly of their own making...

This was of her own making. Too stupid to realize that a car needs gas to run.

nothing is ever her fault, it is always every one around her. She seemed to think that sending her landlord a check after they told her her lease would not be renewed would solve the problem?? She wasn't listening to the legal aid lawyer very well either, but if you slowly drag out the details from her it was just because it was what she didn't want to hear.

    Yup.
Problems like this I can't deal with.
Course, I haven't had to deal with nieces for this stuff.
    Usually girlfriends.

Usually when I've thrown up my hands, because they didn't listen to me.
    They don't need advice.
    They don't need a man.

Then all of a sudden it's... what should I do? Can you help? Can I have some money?

she was not happy with my response either, she sure as hell is not moving in here. She has burned bridges at her mom and ex-in-laws ( her late husband committed suicide) and her dad is worthless. The local P.D. always seem to know who she is within a few months of living somewhere.

People like that, never seemed to learn about actions/consequences

Yes. But.. mistakes are made all the time.
A can of gas is pretty easy to solve.

I've run out of gas twice.
    Course, I was 16.
And my Dad told me... you only get two strikes in baseball.
    After that...

she had a house that she was buying, but again, it ended up with a second mortgage (somehow) and the neighbors ( who were sex traffickers) were shooting lasers at the house
Mine's actually a talented musician (viola and violin), but her fantasy of being a rockstar never panned out. Here she is playing with Shawn Mullins down in Bloomington.
