    I'm not Mexican. :dunno:
    Me neither.
I grew up way down south and have never known otherwise than to do a BBQ on this day.
I was a 15% minority in that region.

As I said, apply as needed.

Squint to find McAllen, Texas, near where I grew up. We were out in the scrub, away from the city.

Signing off until a while later.

Ribs are getting close to ready and we've decided to enjoy our meal outside.
Maybe a half hour more for the ribs.
Time to get other things set.

A slight breeze has kicked up. It's very pleasant out there.
Some use for my authentic serving tray is at hand.

Last week my wife bougth a fresh bunch, maybe 15, of jalapenos for me. They got lost in the fridge somehow.

I was out, but she bought me about that many more today. 15 to 20 is what I normally eat in a week.
Found the ones from last week.
I have quite a few more now.
    No holding back this week.

    Can't wait!

Watching a news story about a toddler found in a retention pond not far from here. I will never understand why these things aren't required to be fenced in. If you have a pool, with crystal clear water and of known depth, you have to have it fenced in, but these ponds, with murky water and of unknown depth are perfectly fine to leave wide open. Always hearing about people drowning, or cars driving into them. Makes no sense to me.
