Skip the Infidel it's a cool name but that about it, D2 in a OTF I am not a fan of as it can surface rust easily and with an OTF good luck fixing that.

Go with Microtech an Ultratech will be at least $100 cheaper than an Infidel and if you want to spend more I suggest a Scarab or Combat Troodon. Keep it a single edge, as daggers are fragile and difficult at best to sharpen well. The new Microtech M390 blade steel they are using now from Böhler is awesome too.
the new colored versions of the mini infidel are using S30V now. :stickpoke:

They have Blue, Green, and FDE. I just special ordered a Green one for someone.

I only own two OTFs. A single action Microtech HALO IV and a Heretic Manticore X. Both are fantastic but the Heretic is a bit on the large size. I'd probably get a Manticore E if I was going to do it again. Slightly smaller.

Heretic knives is owned by Anthony Marfione's (Microtech) son. So he knows how to do OTFs and in my opinion does it better than his dad. I've owned a couple others but sold them off for various reasons. I owned a Microtech Scarab II for a bit but that thing was a misfiring machine. About every 3 out of 10 attempts would misfire. My Heretic has never misfired

If you're ever interested, I can order some of the Heretic knives too. I'd gladly give you a quote

I bought a Kershaw Livewire as soon as they were released.

I like the idea of an OTF more than reality. Just seem so fragile, complicated, and expensive compared to a side folder auto.

My Livewire is relegated to dress knife status.
