I don't think I'd trust my shot placement enough with a big ass bear charging me, so even if it does get a bit heavy on my hip while hiking in bear country, I'll stick with one of my .44 revolvers...having a large caliber rifle slung over my shoulder definitely doesn't hurt the piece of mind either. Lol

Ayup...I remember a few cases in my cop days of .25's literally bouncing off the skulls of intended victims. A .25 is a boffo bear gun if the bear is of the Teddy persuasion.

She was tacticool before tacticool was a thing....I've got a box of Canuck 22 ammo displayed at home....

Ok did some digging into the story and I guess this is not as amazing as it would seem...

1st Bella was packing not just any old Cooey Ace .22 but she removed the front stock screw.. (she claimed lost) and replaced it with Hockey tape. She also used a piece of rubber to free float the barrel..

Poor damn bear never had a chance, he was ambushed as he went by.. She waited till he was 30 feet away before she opened up..

Now she put at least 8 shots in the bears head.. Some while the poor bear just layed there, So much for one shot one kill..

And to boot she was not shooting just any 22 long rifle ammo, she was using Whiz-bang ammo... nuff said..

Taking a bear with a .25 ACP is easy. You just sneak up behind it, jump on it's back, grab the left ear while poking the little .25 behind the bears right ear, pull the trigger as fast as you can until the mag is empty. Let go of the left ear, drop the pistol, jump off the bears back and run like he**, you know, just in case the bear is still alive and pi**ed off!:draw:

Anybody have “Folder No. 20” as described in the Colt ad that details the hunt/shooting? Handgun hunter forum has the same ad that indicates “Folder No. 65” has the story. No luck with the oracle of google.
