Last year (I think), my brother's car got beat to hell in a hail storm. Took it to a place local to him (Columbus) and got it repaired.
The repair came with a warrenty.
Anyway, a month ago, we noticed cracks in the paint where dents were.

He took it back to the shop, they looked it over and are getting ahold of his insurance.

Why would his insurance have to be involved in this at all?

I can only think the warr. covered the dents and not the paint. Any time you flex paint it will crack eventually. It is just not pliable in that way. Just a guess.

When the insurance company specifies the type of repair and that repair doesn't work the insurance company has to re open the file and continue repair until the car is returned to it's pre accident condition. Some insurance companies today actually warrant a shops repairs if you take the car to their recommended shop and have it repaired per their estimate.

It sounds like they're reopening the claim, but they told him he has to pay the deductable again??? FFUUUUU
They only want to repaint the roof, but there is damage on the trunk and hood.
It is going to be a ****ing nightmare.
