Has anyone ever noticed that while some tragedies SEEM like they were caused by the poor judgment of the person harmed, they often turn out to be the fault of whatever peripheral entity has the most money?

    Coincidence is fascinating.

The college should file their own suit against the parents for not raising their child correctly, and allowing him to tarnish the school's reputation. Two can play at this game....

There was an incident at Ball State just like this a couple of weeks ago. An IU freshman was visiting some friends at Ball State. He was drinking and taking methadone. He passed out around 3 a.m. When everybody woke up the next morning, this young man wasn't breathing. It seems he choked on his own vomit sometime during the early morning hours. I believe this incident occurred in a residence hall, though. My daughter is a freshman at Ball State. She said not much has been said about this incident. I'm just waiting for the lawsuit from this kid's parents.

So you think it's coincidence rather than causal, corollary or a conspiracy? All these C words to keep straight. CHRI... Nevermind.

The only winners in this will be the lawyers. Parents lose kids and insurance rates go up. We all pay.

This is the old bill clinton way of thinking, nothing is the fault of the person who does something he/she shouldn't have done. It is always someone else's fault.

He was 18 years old, if there was a law preventing 18 year olds from drinking, he would never have done that....oh wait... there is a law.

If the university followed the state law and banned drinking in university facilities...oh wait, they do...

Yep, william jefferson clinton would be proud of the parents for blaming everyone except their son, and the person looking back at them when they look in the mirror.

Fraternities are much more than just drinking clubs. You can get last semesters tests, old research papers, and materials to build your own beer bong. Whats not to like?
I think it would be better if the alumni sued the parents.

It's tragic the man was too stupid to know his limitations and act in an adult fashion. Pity his parents are morons too. Sometimes stupid kills.

These are the kind of lawsuits that I feel should require a HUGE deposit in order to file it. Like a minimum of $1M. If they win, they get their dough back, if they lose, well..tough :poop:
