Partially serrated blade or plain edge?

I prefer plain as I can sharpen serrations, and I wouldn’t want to ship out to the manufacturer to get a touch up.

However, if all you are doing is cutting rope, i could see it as an option.

I think my plain edged knives work just fine in most situations
