patio door - suggestions

I'm replacing my patio door and could use some suggestions on make, model, and a good place to buy.

It's a sliding glass door that is about 6x7 feet. Not looking for the best or the wost, just medium quality / price. Home Depot and Lowes seem to average about $700 for a sliding glass door.

You are lucky it's 6' wide. I'm currently looking to replace a 5' x 7' door and it's a "non-stocked" item. Therefore, I'm finding the "custom ordered" doors start out at $1000 +.

I have seen some 6' x 7' doors at Menards during my search for $299. I would think $500 should buy you a great door.

If you can swing it, I'd go with a french door instead of a slider. I put in a $2000 Pella top of the line french door on my kitchen. This thing is perfect for moving furniture in and out.

Plus a French Door is more secure and insulates better.
