Penalty for expired handgun permit

Does anyone know what the penalty is? If your somehow caught carrying in this situation.

Not that I ever would.



For instance, your permit is expired by a couple months and you've submitted a new app.

Somebody forgot to renew on time. Oops.

You have the same legal standing as if you did not have a license (not permit) unless you renewed within 30 days of your expiration, then you keep the receipt of the renewal submission as your current license until you either get your renewal or are denied.

True. Your receipt is your "extended license" to carry.
