I never understood the point of such an upper.

If you're bound to the 16" rule, why take away the ballistic advantage the extra barrel length gives you? It's like having all the downsides of an 11.5" barrel with none of the upsides.

Maybe he's waiting for his form to be returned/approved? :dunno:

To the OP, I believe it has to be either silver soldered or blind pinned and welded.

I'm not saying its a good idea to have an 11 inch barrel and and a huge suppressor. i understand that its not as accurate.

i was just curious how they were attached. and if it could be removed if someone wanted to without damaging the rifle. i realize this is illegal etc. but wondering isnt a crime :)

    thanks

no ridiculing towards you, i highly doubt it is removable cause if it is, you would have to fill out a form 4 due to the barrel length. but you could get lucky and if the went the cheap and quick route and just silver soldered it and in that case heat up the flash suppressor and take it off

cool. just a side note does anyone know why the ATF actually cares about the length of a rifle barrel. it just doesnt seem sensible considering we have pistols?

    thanks
