I watched a video a couple of years back that had someone asking people to sign a petition to ban H2O, explaining that it was used, among other things, as an industrial solvent and was capable of dissolving most any material given sufficient time. It was purported to cause rust and other corrosive problems.
It was cited as the cause of x number of human deaths and countless deaths in the animal world.
It was not until they had signed the petition that they were told they just supported banning water!
All of this just high-lights the lack of "common-sense" in society today. People are too eager to please another, without considering the unintended consequences of their actions.
A lot of politicians these days like to talk about "common-sense" legislation, but I don't think they understand the definition of the word "sense".
