Indy Gun Safety has an opening for a part-time NRA certified Pistol Instructor. Candidate must also be certified as an NRA Range Safety Officer, or obtain RSO cert quickly and prior to first class. Candidates are required to assist in teaching at least one of our courses prior to final decision. (We want to see you teach and want you to see how we do things.) The successful candidate will teach one or two classes a month. Most public classes are on Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM. We also do private courses on Saturdays, Sundays and weekdays as needed so at least some flexibility here is required.

We do offer an Instructor mentoring program for those who are not yet certified, but there is no guarantee of employment upon completion. This program includes NRA Basic Pistol & NRA Pistol Instructor courses, and then the student comes back and teaches a course with us all for one price. If we don't hire the student they can still go out and teach on their own or for someone else. We did hire one candidate from this program who taught for us for a few years. But you'd have to be pretty sharp and know the NRA stuff inside and out. It's possible if you are dedicated to training the next generation of safe gun owners and becoming a professional educator.

Please email: info at indygunsafety dot com with resume or CV. You can PM here as well but I may not answer as promptly.
