Place to buy older USMC .45?

I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere I could find an old standard issue .45 the USMC issued out and allowed Marines to keep? I served in the USMC and kind of a History junkie and I think that owning one of these would be a nice piece in my collection.

Assuming that you're talking 1911, I'd think that any USGI 1911 would be what you want. I don't know of any way to tell which ones were issued to the Marines. If you find an old Colt 1911, for a chunk of money they will research the pistol S/N and tell you who they delivered it to. But, I don't know if there's a specific manufacturer that tended to go to the Marines.

You can pick up USMC provenance 1911s on GB, but they are expensive.
