Place to shoot a rifle besides Don's around Indy

Is there anywhere "around" Indy where I can shoot a rifle besides the POS range at Don's? I went there once and never want to go back.

atterbury is open much farther south down 65 but dont know other options

I'm afraid the answer is no. I shoot at Wilbur Wright up North in New Castle. If someone can give me another option I'm all ears.

You have to know, or become a member, but i've shot at the Marion County Fish and Game Range (on the west side, just west of 465, south of 136) a couple of times and it was great every time.

doesn't MC restrict to .22? if you have a .22 you can always go to Eagle Creek and shoot w/o being, or knowing, a member.

No, I've shot 9mm, 40, and 45 (pistols). It is restricted to 22 if you are using rifles.

i am looking into getting some more land to setup a private range. i am tired of people calling the cops everytime i shoot at my house. I miss the range we had out in wyoming. everything and up to a 1.5 mile range for the big guns.

Rifle Range

If I ever get to open my dream shop it will have a 600ft+ indoor rifle range. I'll let ya know in about 20 years.

I'm a member of Fall Creek Vally Conservation Club up in Pendleton. It's only ~30 minutes North of Indy. Membership is very reasonable.

There's a short pistol range, 50 & 100 yd rifle range and a few trap houses. They have an indoor winter airgun league too.

Oh, an archery trail too. They shut down the gun ranges during trap, they shut down everything during the archery coursing.

just to add, at Marion County fish and game you can shoot rile, but only .22 They got right on banning .17 HMR (damn)
Muzzle loader to .54, shotgun and all pistol calibers

Atterburry is the only place that I know of.
I sure would like to have a 200 yard range somewhere need me on the west side.

I'd get an AR if there were any place close other than Don's to practice with them.
