Helped a friend move in to a house near 56th / 465 on the east side this weekend. We discovered that the shower faucet doesn't seem to be getting much / any cold water, so she needs a plumber to figure that out. And she needs an electrical outlet (and maybe cable) added to a wall where there is none. The wall is right above the fuse box, I think, so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

Any recommendations on who to call?

Anyone but one of the chains that use flat rate (read: book) pricing. They will flat rip your head off.

Ask for a quote. Make sure they are licensed and insured. Ask for license numbers.

Have you checked with churchmouse? IIRC, he worked in HVAC so he might know some folks in the electrical and plumbing business.:twocents:

I'll give her Lawrence and Hughes (didn't find a website, just a superpages listing?) and if churchmouse has some names I'll send those on too.

The shower handle can be removed, once it's removed there normally is a plastic temperature adjustment ring with notches. Turning clockwise will allow more cold water to enter the valve body.

Thanks! I'll pass that on to her.

It is one that is off when turned all the way right then you turn left to start the water flow and it gets more hot water as you turn.
