How many PMAGS replace X number of Alumnium USGIs? Are they twice as better? Is it worth selling off new unused 30rd D&Hs for marked up PMAGs in this craze?

they both do the same job, hold rounds in the ready to fire. It doesnt matter to me what the material of the holder is made of, as long as it feeds my AR correctly.
I used the aluminum USGI's for over 20 years of Army service, and only had a couple of issues with them. Never had the oppertunity to use my weapon in combat, but was secure in my belief that they would perform as advertised.

In the end, its a personal choice...ditch the stuff you know works, and spend extra $ on something that may or may not work better, or save your money for more ammunition to use in the stuff that hasnt failed you terribly yet.

current pricing on forums and gunbroker seems to be 2:1 pmags to usgi. Pre-Sandy was 1:1. get what you like, but I would wait. The market is nearing saturation with pmags. Won't be long and you will be buying them for $10 again

I learned the hard way that some of the older PMAGS will not fit all lowers.
So you would have to figure out if the PMAGS you're thinking of buying will fit your lower. I had a Bushmaster, Armalite and DPMS AR's at different times that the 1st Gen. PMAGS would not fit in. They would fit, but it was really tight and they would not drop free. In fact when you would hit the mag release they would barely move, not a big deal at the range, but if your life was depending on it, you would be screwed.

I think I would keep the G.I. mags, and just wait for the price to come down and just buy some PMAGS.

Due to the Unlikely Pass of a Magazine Ban in the Senate. I have to agree People on forums are having a hard time now selling PMAGs for $30, I have noticed.

I like my heavily used usgi mags better than pmags new or old. Plus you can usually buy 3 usgi mags for what 1 pmag would cost!

I have both, PMAG's and USGI's. Use both and like both. Buying more USGI's than PMAG's right now due to pricing.
