So I sent a message to point blank and I told them what the problem was so a manager in Cincinnati sent me 3 range passes to apologize for the overcharge, now that is customer service

But usually not more than the manufacturer price. Magpul had their MSRP that they sell for, and then they have the MAP that you're not allowed to sell under. They don't enforce it though.

i'm shocked they sold it more than 30% over MSRP, but PT Barnum knew what he was talking about I guess :):

In reality you can sell it for what ever you want. MAP is the Minimum Advertised Price. Each manufacturer has different rules on MAP. Some won't let you put the price in the window while other don't care what you do as long as it's within your brick and mortar store. Online has even ore restrictions. One is that you cannot post for less than MAP but the true selling is only visible once it's added to the shopping cart. That's why you see the email ads that say "Too low to show" or Add to cart to see the sale price"" or verbiage to that effect.

...but they didn't "overcharge" you, they charged you just what the price tag said.

    Well said, sir. Well said.

Now, the range gave him 3 free passes to supercompensate for a lack of situational awareness in market prices. I think I'd shop at that store. Not bad PR in my estimation. I usually check my phone while in the store OR know in advance what an item costs.

Yeah it's too easy to do a quick search on google or gunwatcher

I just paid $1.39 at a gas station for a bottle of Dasani. The hotel vending machine charges only $1.25. I feel like the gas station cheated me. They better give me a full tank of gas or I will throw a major BF.

Well maybe not considering I'd be alittle smarter with price checks but the problem was fixed so I'm happy, I'm sure no one wants to be overcharged for a item

Yeah, I got that. We sold around half a million dollars of magpul stuff :):

but if I could have sold an MS3 sing for $80 I would have in a heartbeat

my point is most people will not sell above MSRP, especially magpul stuff. We sold the PRS WELL below MSRP, like $80 less I think, and still cleared $20 after shipping profit.

funny side note: I emailed Taser to ask for their MAP list. They responded that they refuse to allow us to sell their products on a site called "Hartatac". Hi-larious.

Well I didn't know so lesson learned the hard way, figured they be honest but money pays the bills not keeping happy customers

I do not know anyone from Point blank and have never been there.

How can you say they are dishonest?

Point Blank built and maintain a store, pay taxes and utilities, pay insurance and employees. They paid for a product, kept it in stock, and sold it to you with the price clearly displayed and you accepted the price. Anyone that provides a service is worthy of making a living, especially on items you volunteer to buy. It is not like Nationalized socialist healthcare.

How do you make your living? Can anyone ever find your product or service cheaper? Does that make you dishonest?

I have been buying stuff mail order and retail since the late 1960's. I generally always see a product somewhere for sale for less after I bought one, no matter how hard I looked before the purchase. If I need a product and agree to purchase it, whatever it cost is no longer an issue, the need has been met. Just this morning I made a purchase that I know can be bought for about $15 more the next town east. My time and the travel expense is worth more than the $15 cheaper price. Maybe I could get my item online, maybe even with shipping it would be cheaper, but I needed it today, not next week.

This is the mindset these days. Expect a price match regardless.
My time is worth far more to me than a few bucks here and there

This is why you pay more at the convenience store than sale pricing at Walmart or Kroger. The same reason gas is higher in the small tourist towns than at the big highway interchanges with 4-5 stations.

There is certainly a whole lot of reading on INGO in reference to shops and ranges and products and pricing. The search feature works also, kinda. ;) :ingo:

A woman will buy something that's on sale whether she needs it or not. A man will buy something he needs whether it's on sale or not. ;)
