Translation: She wants a platform to tell the world how he is a good boy and how the cops are bad. I have a crispy five spot that says she will not bring up his lengthy criminal record, which he amassed in the <2 years he’s been an adult, nor his runaway and mental health history. Sorry mom, you failed at raising him and your precious boy is a POS and will have to answer for his actions.

From a justice standpoint, it is good that he survived and that there are cooperating witnesses. It’ll be hard for mom to yell from the mountain tops when the facts come out publicly.

Well when I'm out at 0300 on the south-side with a long gun and I just had someone drive off with the car I was trying to jack and then I refuse to cooperate with the Po-Po and get shot...

The follow-up story would me more like "Alleged attempted carjacker who allegedly didn't drop an alleged rifle allegedly at 0300... beaten with a shovel by Mother in hospital room." Mom is 81, she'd do it.
