Sorry about his luck. NOT He wrote his own obit when he submitted that article. By forgetting that 'Compromise' is part of the reason we now HAVE to stand firm and push back he took a great big :poop: on all that are fighting in word and deed to keep this Nation free. Compromise has lead to crime centers full of violence because the only people with guns were the bad guys. He deserves to be a pariah IMO.

Poor lil Dick treated in such a way. Sorta like the way gun owners in the 2nd amendment "compromise" states of New York, California & Massachusetts are treated.
Perhaps a change of magazines is what Dick needs to keep the pay check coming in. How about applying for a position at Hot Rod magazine with a clever article on why engine mods and home garage paint jobs are bad for the environment and endanger other drivers.

Quitcher moaning Metcalf...I think a job just opened up for you:

    (Central Casting, 8AM Tuesday morning)

"Bloomberg just called...he's making a big Ad Buy for gun control in the midterm elections, and he needs a new "Flannel Shirt Bearded Man" to sit on the tailgate of a pickup truck, and read off a prompter for 30 seconds - do we have anybody available for this?"

Enough compromise that results in restrictions of types of guns and accessories that may be sold and purchased and all those that do that for us should be shunned.

Poor baby... Unfortunately, alot of gun owners don't have longevity of memory and have already began to buy and deal with Dicks and Cheaper Than Dirt, so it's only a matter of time before ol' Dicky Metcalf will be back to writing again...

He placed his head firmly up his arse when writing his last column. I read it when published and wondered how long it would be before there were incoming rounds with his name on them. It didn't take very long. He deserves all he gets. Now he whines to the New York Times that he is losing all his perks as a writer and his old friends won't talk to him. Boo-Hoo.

There are good people who believe what he wrote about limitations. But no smart person will say so in public. It took about a day from publication before enemies of the 2A were waving his editorial around and using it to paint the majority of gun owners as extremists. I think what he said was not only wrong, it was presented awkwardly. "Drivers' licenses?" "'Fire' in a crowded theater?" Really? Those analogies have never been accurate, and no thinking person has considered them in decades.

There's room for discussion on the difference between "limits" and "infringements." That room is the kitchen, over a drink between friends, not in a mass circulation magazine. In 2014, there's can be no compromise on policy. Metcalf is -- or at least, was -- enough of an insider that he should've known that.

I think he may of succumbed to gun guru dementia. Believing that the heard of cats that are gun owners would be swayed to his line of thinking or at least accepting of it because he is/was a well respected expert and his way is obviously the only right way.

All this talk about compromise. There has been no compromise on gun control, ever. It's been anti-gunners taking and us giving. That isn't compromise.
