Ok, my youngest brother wants to accessorize his AR. He has the carbon-15 Bushmaster.

He's wanting to get a red dot. I have tried to talk some sense into him, that he should get an Aimpoint. But, foolish as he is, wants an Eotech.

He just likes the way they look. :n00b:

So, what model Eotech do you like the best, and why?

I have the XPS 2-0. I like the reticle, that it uses 123 batteries, and that LaRue makes a lower 1/3 co-witness mount. Battery life is no where near an Aimpoint, but I prefer the reticle more than battery life. :twocents:

I am actually going to try out a Primary Arms red dot to see if I might like an Aimpoint. I do like my Eotech but hate the battery life.

Depending on which model you're talking about, you'll be disappointed. I have the mini red dot ("like" the Aimpoint H-1/T-1); it uses a flat watch battery and drains it significantly faster than my XPS. YMMV based on which models you're comparing...:twocents:

I'm guessing he plays video games?

If I were forced at gunpoint to pick an EOTech :D, I would most certainly go with the new XPS models.

Better battery life. (in relation to the older models)
Bettery battery position. (no longer along the boreline and prone to compressing contacts)
    Smaller overall package.
Better placement of buttons (on one of them anyway)

 he plays video games all the time!
He just doesn't like the look of the Aimpoints.

I'm liking the XPS models. I'm sending him a link to Larue. At least he'll buy it from them..
