Possibility of a WEST CENTRAL INDIANA Group Purchase of 5.56 Bulk Ammo?

I can easily afford a rather large amount but saving monie$
is always good! Just wondering if this has been done before
(or lately) and if anyone was interested.

    TIA

I can't easily afford a lot of ammo, so I would be definitely interested in purchasing some on a group buy. I would want to buy re loadable brass though so I can then have casings to reload.

Doubtful you can get much if any price break with the amount of volume you could get. It takes a large amount to get any discount.

This is a great idea, just be aware that distributors are turning this ammo over faster than they can get it in, so ammo that's available at the beginning will certainly change over the course of the buy. Pricing would most certainly change as well, unless you have a warehouse willing to hold a palate for the duration.

Best of luck - and if this is organized, I'm in.

geography probably plays a big part in it. If I am in the N/W end of the state and the group buy is in evansville it probably wouldn't be a good deal for me

youd need a truckload to make it feasible. i watch my LGS get in pallets of 5.45 and its gone that week.
price breaks during times of peak demand are pretty unlikely.

I'd like quality rounds that can be reloaded (new) and the Lake City stuff was filling
most or all of the requirements. I'm somewhat of a noob and open to suggestions.
AR newbie, not a rube-noob overall. If y'all come up with some acceptable mfg's I can
    start making some calls.

PS: I have a union brother/friend with FFL and a dealership. I'll see what he can get.
I am located in TH (Terre Haute) West Central Indiana, and the FFL buddy is pretty close.

PPS: LOT SIZES: is 1000 rounds a good size? We could make it smaller.

I also want to point out that I am not an INGO old-timer, 38 posts to date. I was hoping in this
new thread posting that someone could point me to an existing GP or something like that. Seems
that the interest is there, but nothing was in the works!

Up to 15 interested, including myself. I'd estimate that as at least 20Krounds
at 1000 rounds per buyer, and some multiples. That is not counting folks who chimed in
    with
    cautionary statement and nothing else.

I'd be interested in Lake City, PMC, PMC X-Tac, or others. Hell, I'd be up for a deal on Wolf, Silver Bear, or Golden Bear, for that matter.

    17 GP'ers.

I'll find out on the steel case stuff, but most would like brass (IMO)
I have been researching steel reloads, and it is doable, it seems.
I'd still rather have the majority of my casings brass and some steel.
I still need to see how my new AR likes the brands and styles. Got a
sweet deal on a Delaware Machine lower based AR :D

I'll list the import ammo info that I can turn up.
