I keep coming back to BCA and looking at their build kits.....are they really as awful as the reviews say they are?

I have built using their barrels, and hand guards in past without problems. I recently bought a 20" 223 wylde upper. I don't have enough rounds through it to tell you one way or the other. So far it's been good.
One of my nephews bought a 6.5 Creedmoor he likes it, and another nephew has their 7.62x39mm upper he likes his, both have not had any problems, and very good accuracy as well.
