As the title states, I wanted to get a price check on a mid 1990's West German Sig P226. Very low round count, 1 extra magazine, original box and papers, 9mm with original grips. The gun is also in VERY good condition. Thank you all in advance for any information.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but if it says West German, probably pre-1991, since once the wall came down it should just say Germany. FWIW, I paid $800 for a mint condition German P226, proofed in 1996 (had 4 mags with it too, though). It's damn near new in box condition. Just shot it for the first time today and it handles like a dream.

Looks like there might some finish wear (or else it's the lighting). Without a good picture of the proof mark (look underneath the muzzle) or having the two letter code, hard to tell the age. $450-$600 is probably fair.

Although hacksawfg may have gone a little higher than I would've on a NIB P226, he did get a couple extra mags with it. I think a very, very nice or NIB W.German P226 would command up to $700, maybe even $750. In the picture you show, I see what could be some cosmetic issues, but it's always hard to judge from a picture. $500ish?

Came with 2 Mec-Gar 17-round, 2 Sig 10 round magazines (brand new). Finish is immaculate, had the factory-shot target, all the papers, etc. Even the outside of the barrel is in good shape (not a lot of marks- yet) ;)

I guess I'm saying figure out what you are willing to pay, based on the price range (maybe even look at blue book of gun values at a bookstore), and make an offer. Worst that can happen is the guy can say no, right?

Thanks guys! A co worker of mine owns it, and no longer wants it. He offered it to me first knowing that I would want it. I'll see if I can strike a deal!

As others have said you are looking at around 450 to 600. But I say you should go for it! Sigs are great guns, and fun shooters. Mine makes me think of the X Files seeing how Fox Mulder always carried one season 2 onwards, excluding season 3..

    Here's mine :D
