OK. I bought my first AR yesterday. I was reading through the operations manual and all through it .223 is highlighted in yellow. It is stamped .223/5.56. While going through and learning how to break it down I noticed the underneath of the barrel is stamped 5.56 1-9. I'm assuming it's fine to put both through it?? I know, dumb question, I'm a noob, LOL.

I tried searching through the forums but I don't think I was wording the search right to get the answer I was looking for.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd give the barrel stamping more credence than the manual. If it is indeed chambered for 5.56 then it's fine to put both through it (but not the other way around). If you want confirmation contact the mfg.
