Proliferation of 300 Blackout / cost of ammunition

I just wonder how these blunt round nose projectiles hit the barrel extension of an AR style rifle??

I found some time yesterday to go out and shoot these. 80 rds fed and fired perfectly and ejection was nice in a small pile.

Nice casts! Mind sharing your process? I have melted wheel weights in my Lyman pot, are those sufficient or do you use an alloy? Are you using the standard "Harbor Freighr powder coat method? How about gas checks? Still hesitating on trying this...

Cast bullets at 70/30 wheel weight and soft lead. Warm them to 130 degrees for 10 minutes. Place them in a vibrating tumbler with the powder coat and vibrate for 15 minutes. Dump them out on a wire mesh basket and shake the excess powder coat off. Place them in the convection toaster oven at 400 degrees. When the powder coat starts to melt then time it for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and dump in a cold bucket of water. I size to .309

Gas checks are optional but I find better accuracy with them installed.
