Yes, they can just ride in the middle of the road. Wait, INGO doesn’t want them there either…Leave my bike path alone.

Everybody always can justify that favored dollar the government spends, regardless of party affiliation.Yes, they can just ride in the middle of the road. Wait, INGO doesn’t want them there either…
They don't. They cheer every time some politician announces a new project. Every republican local councilman/woman will go after every "free" dollar they can find in the system. The people demand it.100%. It is a the people problem. Outside of INGO I don’t know more than a few folks that EVER mention “cutting spending”…
You should at least be exempt from property taxes on your primary residence once you reach retirement age. And at least up to a certain amount. I mean, somebody like Jim Irsay in his $8m estate shouldnt be exempt, But Some elderly couple in a $200k or less house shouldnt pay. Provided they've paid at least X years of property taxes. Some old person that decides to move here and buy a house to retire in shouldnt necessarily be exempt. It should be something that folks that have paid for years get to "age out" and stop after a while.
I read where it is ONLY $ 72 million ....................They will continue to rob us in style now .
Agree. I'm taxed on my crawl space. Attached garage is part of the house and taxed at 1%. Detached garage is 3%. Concrete patio, 12x20 shed for mower/tools, gazebo for fire pit, etc are all 2-3%. Totally against the spirit of the original 1% cap. Buddy bought house with unusable in ground pool. Taxed 3% on pool until he filled it in to create garden. Now he's taxed on the old concrete sidewalk that goes from house to garden. Sheesh!!Yeah the old raise the assessments crap is getting old. They are using it to defeat the spirit of the 1% property tax cap.
Daniels did have it fixed... until they figured out a way around it.
We all ( all types of corporations included ) should pay with what we spend and not what we make or own.I disagree. I am not a fan of government taxes that pick winners and losers. If there must be a tax, everyone should have equal (percentage) skin in the game. The more loopholes and exceptions, the more willing people are to raise taxes on "other people". The only income tax should be a flat tax. And there should be no tax on assets at all. But if there is one, it should be the same percent for everyone.
And Mitch Daniels did make it much better. But better is not the same as good.

We bought our home in `18 ( "assessed" at $232...........by `22 , it was at $405 ! assessed ) No improvements .Yeah the old raise the assessments crap is getting old. They are using it to defeat the spirit of the 1% property tax cap.

Don't know how often, but it does happen. My cousin and in law as an example. They moved from a nice place, into an even nicer one on the course at a country club.Does that happen often? Is somebody going to spend a decade+ in a slum to save on taxes in retirement ? This feels like a solution looking for a problem.
Assessed values go up when the government prints trillions of dollars and injects it into the hands of citizensWe bought our home in `18 ( "assessed" at $232...........by `22 , it was at $405 ! assessed ) No improvements .
Appealed for 2 years w/ zero results ..............

One article bosted about the 40 restrooms it would have .....................( one for every gender ? )

That's because there is a large majority that have no idea how economics, etc works. Just look at all the brilliant folks who think fast food workers, etc should be making much more $$ but don't understand how that effects pricing on that same food and then how that effects the rest of the economy and no one is better off for it, etc.100%.
