Just put my 14 year old cocker down today and buried her in the yard. The family and I are ordering out tonite and I expect Jack, Roadie, Sidearmed, and anyone else that is blasting the idiots on the papers website to keep it up.So make sure they know I said this in case they do not read this thread.

Thanks in advanced to my INGO family.

I know its rough, but I'm sure you'd agree it was worth it for all the good times.

The first time I went through this I was about 14. Back then it was more common to take the "do it yourself" route. Dad and I took my dog Patches down to a nice spot on the river and did what we had to do. I think Dad cried more than I did. It was tough, but I think I'm a little bit of a better person for having experienced it. I practically grew up with that dog. I'm not trying to sound morbid but the gun we used that day now belongs to me and I actually have good memories when I shoot it, not bad.

My hearts with you my friend. We're approaching that same point with our pup, and it makes me tear up just thinking about it. Terribly sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss, losing our four legged friends can be very hard because of how close and tight a bond we humans develop and share with our tail wagging family.

Me and Mrs. IBM have had to experience this 3 times in our 24 1/2 years of marriage, and it never gets any easier.

A little bit to help you and the family out.

[SIZE=+1]Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close
to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special
friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and
our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored
to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one
small thing; they each miss someone very special to them,
who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when
one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over
the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special
friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
    never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your
life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Your courage today ended your friends pain.
