Question about xd 40 compact?

So I have been looking for a while to make my first hand gun purchase and today I pulled the trigger and bought a Springfield xd compact in 40 s&w I am really excited about the purchase but was wondering what is the differance between the xd compact and the xd service they look the same to me? Your comments are appreciated thanks!

grip on the compact is like .5" shorter vs the service, barrel length is the same.

I dont know the difference between the two , but I have a xdm40 compact and love it. I think you made a great choice.

My brother has the compact with a 3in barrel, I have the service which has a 4in barrel. Also the handle as mentioned besides that all the same. Funny thing is not much is said about XD's. Simply pu t very reliable and maintenance free.

I have owned the Glock 27 and xd .40 sub compact and in my opinion, the xd is better.

I have the XD9 Subcompact, though 200+ rounds of
4 different types of ammo it has been flawless.

I like the way it shoots, user friendly.

Carried it today for the 1st time IWB and was very
comfortable.

Its my EDC now.
