So I have been looking into building my first computer ever and am wondering what type of GPU to go with. I don't need anything crazy expensive but would like something that will still look pretty. I have been checking out the gtx 960's but other than that I don't really know what else to look at.

I got a GTX 970 this May. Freaky fast card.

The 960's are a good choice too. Right now it seems the NVidia cards are faster and more efficient in terms of power usage.

Won't go wrong with a 960 or 970. NVidia seems to be getting into the dangerous territory of "platform exclusive features" like NVidia Hairworks. So, you'd technically be on the right-side of the better-looking graphics.

If you want a 970, friend of mine considering selling one of his. He has two in an SLI configuration, but is thinking of changing it up. I can ask what he wants for it, he's here in the Shelbyville area.

My son works at Fry's and has mentioned 960s and 970s, something about being able to get the cheaper one and overclock it safely to equal the more expensive. If I can get hold of him here soon I'll get details.
