questions flying with rifles

flying southwest airline taking 2 rifles,
the question is what type of locks for hard sided case?
i have seen tsa approved(that they can open) and also locks that no one but you can open.
anyone have recent experience?

Unless you don't want your case and/or lock damaged, use a TSA approved lock.

from what I've read, you don't want TSA locks. it has to be locks that only you have a key to.

i have flowen with a rifle 1 time and it was a pita. but it was on 9-20-01

This is true, in addition to only you having the combination if it that kind of lock. I keep my own plus a TSA lock on it. It's already been declared when checking luggage, but my friend had his busted up once, when they "had to" open it.
