    My experience over the last decade would lead me to believe the the best answer is it is agency dependent. Saying most sheriffs offices allow it would be a bit misleading in my experiences/opinion.

    Yes it is very much agency dependent. In Greene County, as a Reserve, you must provide your own firearm. It must meet certain criteria though(i.e. caliber).

    Not clear yet. We were originally informed that it would be until we get the Sig's, but I've recently heard a rumor that they are considering to continue to allow it.

    My understanding is that they are required to carry the issued firearm. They used to issue a .380 back up and off duty gun. Not sure if they still do.

    Only 45's, Sig's, FN's M&P's, XD's and a few others..I'd have to look at it again.
